Sautéed Mushrooms

Ingredients

  • 3 cups oil 
  • 1 pound whole, medium size mushrooms 
  • 1/2 tablespoon chopped garlic 
  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine 
  • 8 tablespoons soy sauce 
  • 8 tablespoons water 
  • 1 teaspoon sugar 
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch plus 2 teaspoons water 
Step 1
Heat pan or wok; add 3 cups oil and heat.
Step 2
Fry mushrooms for about 3 minutes or until they turn light brown then remove and drain oil.
Step 3
In the same pan or wok, add chopped garlic, cooking wine, soy sauce and water; boil about 1 minute.
Step 4
Add mushrooms and cook about 2 minutes; add sugar; stir fry for about 30 seconds then add cornstarch mix (2 teaspoons water and 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed together); stir fry for about 30 seconds.
Step 5
Remove from heat and serve.
